Jazmine Sullivan’s debut album, Fearless, came out September of last year and has already garnered the singer two hit singles, positive reviews, and a whopping five Grammy nominations—including Best New Artist. Sullivan has big competition in Adele, but she has a good chance of winning the award.
On first single, “Need U Bad,” one can hear the soul and yearning in her voice that separates her from the vast pool of female R&B sound-alikes. Supporter Missy Elliott is featured in the song’s official video singing along. Just as good is the fun follow-up single, “Bust Your Windows,” in which she breaks his car because he broke her heart. All of her songs seem to have a deep meaning more than material things. Jasmine is bring back the sound of street jazz, originated deep in Harlem. She is breaking the bariers and bustin' through with a classy new sound. Jasmine is one if the hottest new artist out right now. She might just take over the title "Queen of R&B Jazz". One of my biggest dreams is to travel. I hope I, like Jasmine, will be able to do all I can to get out and around the world. I think that is probably one of the most important things that I hope I accomplish before I die.
